Quarantine in effect

So I woke up today and was fine.  I ate my usual cereal for breakfast.  About 2 hrs later I started real dizzy, lightheaded and nauseaous and up came the breakfast about 30 minutes later.  For the rest of the day I’ve been laying down for the most part and dealing with the lightheadedness and nausea.  I talked to my mom this afternoon and she had the same thing yesterday.  (We live 2 hrs apart so I didn’t get it from her.)  She said she is fine today so hopefully I will be tomorrow.

FML

I think yesterday qualifies for worst day ever.  I get up, get ready for work, go out to my car, put the key in the ignition and… nothing.  Car won’t start.  So I call a tow truck.  Luckily the guy is able to get it started and I take it directly to the shop.  So, $400 later I have a new starter in the car.  I get to work 2 hrs late, deal with the usual idiots and then Jenna calls.  Turns out her work is laying off about 25 people and she has to awesome fortune to be one of them.  The good thing is that they gave about 2 months notice.  So she will be out of a job in June and finishes school in July.  Hopefully it won’t be hard for her to find a job after July.  So, after all this I go into work at the theater and Jenna calls to let me know that she cannot drive her car (which she picked up from the shop a couple days ago) because none of the rear lights work.  Well, the turn signals work.  But there are no tail lights and no break lights.  Which means it’s illegal for her to drive and extremely unsafe.  So, back to the shop it goes!

Car go BOOM… again.

Jenna managed to become invisible again causing another driver to rear-end her.  She is fine and the car is being fixed.  At first they were talking about totaling it but the damage appears to not have been as extensive as originally estimated.  So, two weeks with a rental car and the car should be fixed.  I’m thinking we might need to add a sign or something to the back of her car since the grey color seems to not be noticeable.

Big let down

They got our hopes up for more snow this week.  (Yeah I know I haven’t put up the pictures from Blizzard ’09 yet but I will soon.)  They were calling for 2-4 inches over night so I figured maybe 1-3 inches.  I stayed up late playing xBox and relaxing assuming I would be able to sleep in this morning.  Well, nothing happened.  We had a light dusting on the cars and grass but everything else was clear.  Stupid weatherman.

Welcome to the world!

Welcome to the world baby Liam!

Congrats to Kelly and Justin!

(okay I give props to Kelly a bit more, she did have to push 9 pounds!)

We are so happy for the both of you!

Good stuff

Yay!  Art got a job.  He’ll be starting at Brier Creek on Friday.  I’m glad he wasn’t completely screwed.  We should be going to dinner with his new woman this weekend.

Lots of fun this week.  Work, work, work and then work some more.  I get to go in tomorrow night, on my night off, to help build prints.  Why are we getting 7 prints this week?  Is that really necessary?

Theater Drama

Apparently the new company decided to make some changes in the management team.  Steve, the old GM, was terminated as was Art, another manager and friend of mine.  There was no warning or hint that it was about the happen.  Steve was putting away stock when the home office rep came up and basically told him to stop working because he was being terminated.  It was a bit of a shock.

They screwed Art even more though.  He was on vacation last week and they decided on Wednesday that they weren’t going to be bring him on board.  So, they are denying that they fired him which means he can’t even get unemployment and they didn’t give a severance package.  Now, I’m no lawyer but I would think that depending on the deal with Regal, the new company took the building AND the employees.  Which means that they did fire Art.  Because had he not been on vacation he would have been there on Friday to fill out paperwork and then on Wednesday they would have fired him.  Not this, “oh, we never hired you” crap.

Oh, and did I mention Thor is the new GM?  And they are bringing Stewee back, even after they made such a big deal about Regal not transfering employees from the grande?  I guess they didn’t have a problem with taking Regal employees from another theater.  One things for sure though, It’s going to be interesting ride.

Sin much?

So I was give this link earlier today.  At first I thought it was a joke.  But, I think it might actually be real.  Apparently Reuters is reporting a group of Christians decided they needed to go down to Wall Street to pray for the economy.  Well, on Wall Street, where they went to pray, there is the bronze bull statue.  So these idiots were literally laying hands and praying to a golden calf!

Memorial for Mark

We had the memorial service for Mark last night.  It was really nice.  The Marquee cancelled all their shows after 7 pm and we set up in an auditorium.  I would guess about 200 people came.  Some friends spoke about their memories of Mark and I think, or at least hope, it provided closure for those that needed it.  The common remark was that he was the kind of guy that would do anything for you, and not expect anything in return.  That is definitely the Mark I remember.  He will me missed greatly by friends and family.
