Welcome to the world!

Welcome to the world baby Liam!

Congrats to Kelly and Justin!

(okay I give props to Kelly a bit more, she did have to push 9 pounds!)

We are so happy for the both of you!

We’ve got grass! Yeah! We’ve got grass!

It has been 1 year and 3 months since we have moved into our new house and we just got grass yesterday! Excitmenet! You know, we have never really had grass, our yard has always been just dirt and weeds. Don’t get me wrong, our weeds could eat a small child! Our weeds brought in black widows and wolf spiders. Our weeds were the talk of the neighborhood. No more! We have beautiful sod, our entire yard! I love the smell of freshly turned earth!

Thank You Easter Bunny! Bark! Bark!

Okay, so maybe the Easter Bunny didn’t come to our house this year because we weren’t so well behaved, or maybe he didn’t get our change of address card, I am not so sure. What I do know is that it was a beautiful weekend with Spring weather. It was the 1st weekend of Spring.

Friday, my mom and I took Hailey and Christopher out to Family Swim night. They are learning to swim which is something I think every person should learn to do. If you have swam all your life you will never know what it is like to fear water. These kids, while taller than 4 feet were afraid to let go of the wall of the pool in 3 feet of water. I personally don’t get it because I have always been a fish but these kids were terrified like I have never seen before. So, swim lessons it is and the improvement has been amazing.

So, if you don’t know how to swim, don’t know the Dead Man’s Float, then learn. Put it down on the top 100 things you should know. (hummm sounds like a list is coming on……)

Hope you had a great weekend!!!!

Oh, Happy belated birthday to our friends Gary Moe and Casey Blackburn! We may be 5-6 weeks late, but we did remember!

Good Riddance!

We have sealed the deal on the old house. 8522 Bright Loop is no longer our property! We closed at 2PM on Friday and picked up our check at 4PM that same day. While it is slightly sad that we sold our 1st home, we are overjoyed with the fact that we sold our 2nd mortgage!

After 10 months of being on the market, and 7 months of paying two mortgages, we can almost celebrate! We have yet to pay off what feels like the insurmountable debt we owe from paying those two mortgages. Jason figures it will be about Jan 09 before we are debt free. We did it! We did it!

Good News / Bad News

The bad news is that our house has been on the market now for 9 months. The good news is that we finally have received an offer. Yes, we received a reasonable offer and we are excited to close on the house by March 15th. We can only hope that the transaction goes smoothly.

Then, maybe we will have more time to write our story!

Things that make you go O! (The oMop)

So I bought this oMop at Target about 2 months ago when shortly after we moved. It was supposed to be for hardwoods, non-toxic, environmentally friendly mop that was ergo dynamically correct. It’s motto is, “We curved so you don’t have too!” (meaning the mop handle is curved so you don’t have to bend over while mopping). It is phenomenal! I love it! Better than the Clorox mop, better than the Swiffer Duster Mop. It doubles as a dry mop, wet mop you can use it on hardwoods, linoleum, and tile. The dry mop covers are compostable so you are not filling up a landfill somewhere and the wet mop is removable and washable! So, I dry dusted the hardwoods and the linoleum last night. Then, I took the non-toxic formula for linoleums and sprinkled it directly on the floor…(.no buckets or no upside down Clorox bottles leaking) and proceeded to mop with a mopping pad that Velcro’s on the mop head (it doesn’t slide off like Clorox or Swiffer) and tossed it in the washing machine! I love it. Oh, and the versatility of the mop handle. Yes, we thought Clorox and Swiffer could hit all angles, but we were so wrong.

Run, run to Target and get your oMop.

(yes, I am so excited about the oMop, I wanted to share. It is a Method product)

Congratulations to me!!!!

I did it! I passed! Today I passed the North Carolina state certification test for Nurse Aide I. I feel high as a kite right now! I hope to start working part time as a CNA at Wake Med or Rex.

Thanks for believing in me!!!!!

The Saga Continues…..

So, I called the auto body shop today to ask if my car was still on target to be ready this Friday. The response was, not this Friday. We have painted the inside door jams and the wheel hubs however we still have to put the car back together, cover it up with plastic before we can paint the out side of the car. Then, we have to reinstall the glass and take the car to the muffler shop to see if the muffler and tail pipes can be fixed or if it needs to be replaced.

The tail pipes underneath the car were damaged too.

They could not promise or guarantee that the vehicle would be ready next week. The estimate will also go up; how much depends on whether the replace or repair the muffler and the tail pipes.

So, as of next Friday, the body shop will have had my car, that isn’t totaled, 51 days. I find that quite ridiculous considering that I probably won’t get it back until the following week.

We haven’t done much to the house at all. We can barley make it home at the end of the day. With me in school and working full time, Jason working both the full and part time job and I just started back part time at the Hallmark store, we have no energy to do anything. Keep your fingers crossed for us, that we sell the town house soon. It has really taken a toll on us.

Site lost?

Jason informed me today that we maybe losing our site. The company that hosts the site has hiked up their price per year. We may be shopping around for something cheaper.

So….if you log on one day and we are not here, you will know why. We will keep you posted if we were to use a new host!

Not totaled yet?

Seriously! At this point the damage done to my vehicle is roughly 5K, including the bent frame that the body shop and Nationwide plan to have fixed. Now they may find more once they start repairing the damage. The car is still not totaled. I am afraid that it will take another 4 grand to do so. Does that just seem ridiculous to anyone other than me? Can’t wait to get my bent frame car back! Oh! Can I please have it back? So, why haven’t they totaled it yet? Got me!
