Car Go Bang!

Yes, tis true; someone has smashed into the back of my Rav4. Car Go Bang made for an interesting week. Last Wednesday at about 5:32 PM on Rock Quarry Road an Italian man decided he wasn’t going to use his breaking system and used mine instead. I saw him coming I just couldn’t get out of the way fast enough and right up underneath of my car he went.

No one stopped. No one called the police. My cell phone? I left it at home on the counter. Now, some of you know how paranoid I can be at times. We all watch the news and see the freakish stories. I was terrified that I would be on the 6 o’clock news and not in a good way.

At about the time where I started loosing consciousness the man who so abruptly introduced his car to mine called Jason. Jason had asked me if I had called the cops. All I could say is no, you need to do that. I am glad he did.

The driver, with only a license to drive fleet cards and no insurance had asked me several times not to call the cops. Not that I could with having leftl home without my phone. I felt stranded!

My car did not look all that damaged however, the back doors do not open anymore. The muffler makes a beautiful put-put-put and the weather stripping on the front windshield is all wrinkled. I called the body shop today (the car has been there since last Thursday) and I was told the car is still not finished being evaluated. I am okay with that. I would rather them take the time and do it right. When I asked him how it was looking his exact words were, “Look’ in kinda rough” and I just couldn’t believe it.

We will be mailing out our new address cards within the next week. I will say I was able to get them super cheap thanks to www.vistaprint.com. They aren’t spectacular but they do the trick.

Catching up

There are only 32 days until we close on our new house. A little nerve racking being that we have not sold our current home. The winds are changing. They’ve got to be. We currently have a distinguished unit house on the market; none other for sale in the neighborhood is like ours in looks.

Meanwhile at the new house a 24 ton AC unit was installed this week. Can you say BREEZY! I like it. The hardwoods in the living room, dining room and hall are completed. They look nice. We also have a driveway and sidewalk. Jason would not let me carve our names in the wet concrete. They look nice. This week, the builder will install a new cabinet in the kitchen (the one they installed has a gash in it) trim out the walls with toe kick, and complete painting.

This weekend we took measurements for our windows so that we could price some window treatments. We have a lot more windows to dress this move.

I have a final exam tomorrow for the CNA class I am taking. Before some study time today, Christopher, Justin, Granny and I went for a swim. I forgot how nice a pool is when it is 90 degrees outside. Our new neighborhood will not have a pool. Today, for a brief moment I thought I would miss it.

Excited about the comic book convention! Who loves a nerd! (I do!)

Tomorrow, Jason & I are off to Charlotte where we will be attending Heros Aren’t Hard to Find, a comic book convention. Boy, I can’t wait.

That’s right! I cannot wait to rest my pretty little head on those Heavenly Pillows, sleep in those Heavenly Beds at The Westin, shower in their Heavenly Shower, and lounge at the pool. While Jason is walking around with all those guys dressed up like Spiderman or The Silver Surfer, I will be sipping a appletini while Jorge the pool boy feeds me grapes. Okay already, I might not get the grapes fed to me by Jorge but I am definitely going for that appletini!

We still have not had any offers on the house. But who knows. Our day will come.

Maybe next week!

According to our realtor, our open house went well. I am not so sure but I must have some faith right? We had 4 visitors, none with realtors who were interested in seeing the house. All were in the market. One, disappointed because they missed out on the other townhouse in the neighborhood that had a porch. Now, we are the only house for sale that has a full porch and a brick front. That has got to get us somewhere! We have had no reasonable offers. Maybe next week.

While our house was open to the public, Jason and I went to see Ocean’s 13. While I will let him write the review, I will tell you “The Boys are Back in Town” sort to speak. Very charming they were!

Open House tomorrow!!!

Tomorrow is our 2nd open house. Say a prayer, cross your fingers or send us a donation check for our two morgages we will have here next month.

I am cleaning the house, had to dust, mop, scrub the tub and all that jazz to pretty up the place for the big day. We are hoping to be more successful that our last open house.

While our house is open to the public, Jason and I are going to see Ocean’s 13. I am definately looking forward to that.

Off to vacuum!

Site is still broken, Jason blames Gary!

Our website is still broken. Jason blames Gary. I blame Jason. Who knows when we will get it fixed at this point! I just want my photo gallery back!

School today was not so fun. My instructor has tendencies to show predjudices in a nonchalant way. Today his prejudices were towards those who have tatoos. I was most dissapointed. It just goes to show that even those with years and years of college eduction and lots of little acronyms behind their name can still be ignorant!

We have no flyers in our box! We are completely out. So, people seem to be interested in our house for sale however I can’t figure out what is holding them back from looking inside and making an offer? We haven’t had a viewing in 7 days, meanwhile the house down the street that looks just like ours has sold.

Boy, I am so glad that once we sell this house, it will be years, decades until we have to do it again.

Our Gallery is broke!

Our picture gallery is currently broke. Jason is working on getting it fixed!

In the meanwhile, our house does have siding, brick and shingles. This week on the builder’s agenda is installing the insulation and drywall. Yes, drywall already. We are still on schedule to close on July 26th.

Check back with us for pictures! Hopefully we will be fixed by the end of the week.

We have nothing planned this weekend! Nothing!

Gas prices are so high, we refused to travel!

We have no big plans this weekend. I had wanted to go to the mall, take pictures on the progress of the new house and watch some TV (not a lot….just a little).

However…..Jason has been feeling quite ill today so I have been sitting on the couch and making sure he is comfortable.

No one has asked to view the house in the past few days. I am beginning to think our St. Joseph is not feeling well too.

The Zoo Trip (the secret to not having to walk up hill)

Okay, so after we literally hiked up hill for 4 hours on Sunday, I get to work Monday and a co-worker tells me the genius secret to how not to walk up hill at the zoo.

You park in Africa and take the tram to the top of the hill and walk back down the hill to the tram station, seeing all the lions, elephants, and monkeys in-between.

Then, you take the tram back to the top of the hill and walk down to North America. Then, you take the tram all the way back to Africa.

Otherwise, be prepared to sweat! And, yes, I loved the puffins but the otters were a close second!

People looked at the house (again)

Different folks this time. Fingers are crossed.

The house on Mount Valley is sold. It goes to contract June 15th. That is one less house to compete with.

I came home and found that the buyer’s agent left the curtains open. Slight dissapointment. We are not sweating just yet! Our open house is this weekend. Our house will sell, after all; we have a St. Joseph!

Tootles!
