Bioshock

Easily one of the most interesting games I’ve played in a long time.  I know I’m way behind the curve on this one but it’s not easy to shell out $60 for a game.  I just can’t do it.  Call me cheap if you want to but paying for things like movies and music and games has always been difficult for me.  But as I was saying, Bioshock is an awesome game.  It does get a little repetitive with the hacking of machines and the killing of enemies but it is fun.  I will admit though I was a little disappointed in the end battle though.  As difficult as some of the other parts of the game were, the end battle just seemed to easy.  Aside from that the game play can be pretty intense.  Choosing weapons and powers on the fly was very easy except for the fact that the powers would sometimes change positions on the selector menu when new ones were added.  This made it difficult at times because I got used to just selecting the position of the power instead of the power itself.  The graphics were a little lacking in detail compared to something like Halo but overall it was good.  The darkness of the game and the music definitely added to the spookiness and there were times where it made me hesitate before moving forward into a room or down a corridor.

When all is said and done is was a good game that definitely didn’t suffer from the “short game syndome”.  Granted I’m not an intense gamer who has to play every day.  I played a few times a week and it lasted several weeks.  Hopefully someone I know will be getting Bioshock 2 when it comes out so I can borrow it so I don’t have to wait until the price drops.
